Opinions are like...personally, it's decent but nothing to get excited about.
On a budget, local Music Go Round has an "80's Soundcraftsmen Mosfet that will murder that Crown for 70 bucks..

Honestly don't see how it helps with searches...excluding OT would also exclude any Altec info in those threads. From my viewpoint it's worthless, but since it costs the same amount I've been doing that on threads I start. The movie theater sale had Altec sound, I still marked it off topic.

Couldn't resist commenting on this one. I just happened to notice this thread last night, and the close address caught my attention. I looked up the add on Craigslist, and sent an email asking what church it was from. Turns out the amp was one I bought as part of a new sound system install I did for them around 20 years ago. The main cluster had 3 used Altec 604g's with new Hf diaphragms, and a new 604k (worked out best for the coverage). Given the efficiency of the 604's the Crown drove them to a pretty decent volume. The cabinet was a pretty cool design, 9 cu ft per driver, ported, and fit into the peak of the roof. I'd still do it the same today, except that I wouldn't draw it all out and do the calculations by hand any more. Should have charged them more though, because I'm pretty sure, as usual, they paid more and got less of a system this time around.
They also said the amp is sold now.
Turns out it was Altec related after all though!
So, a D150A or D60 are not just little brothers of a DC300A?
